Mr. Kawsar Ahmed presented his research work on Molecular Sieves development in weekly seminar

On October 04, 2018 Mr. Kawsar Ahmed, Research chemist, Hydrogen energy laboratory, BCSIR Laboratories, Chittagong presented and shared his recent research findings on development of Molecular Sieves (MS) by using available “Rice Husk” as raw materials. Molecular Sieves (MS) are used in petrochemical refining industry and gas refining industry for refining gas & oil in huge amount which are imported from abroad. At present time silica is the raw materials of Molecular Sieves. Mr. Kawsar Ahmed chose biomass (rice husk) as the source of silica and he synthesized silica by pyrolizing rice husk. The finished product is under investigation.

The title of the presentation was “Development Of MOLECULAR SIEVES from Available Domestic Biomass Use in Petrochemical Refining Industry” All scientists from BCSIR Laboratories, Chittagong were present in this weekly seminar. The seminar was presided by Mr. Dr. Mohammad Mostafa, Director (in-charge), BCSIR Laboratories, Chittagong and Miss. Tania Sharmin, Scientific Officer, BCSIR Laboratories, Chittagong has run the seminar.
